Merita Orgias with husband Dave. |
Today we had a whakatau for Merita Orgias. Merita will
be working with our team on a fixed term contract for one year working in the
area of child & youth Mental Health. We were privileged to have some
of her whanau attend the whakatau and we are pleased to have another Maori
registered nurse work alongside the team. We are looking forward to
Merita’s contribution to our whanau and what all of will be able to learn off
her. Over the coming weeks Merita will be getting out and about getting
to know the community whanau and sitting on some of the hauora programmes to
familiarize herself on all services we provide.
It’s also that time of the year again “School Holiday
Programme”!! Whaea Nicky has put together another fun filled week for our
tamariki aged 5 – 9yrs of age. Tamariki get to enjoy our local
environment as well as have organized activity and games. This is always a
popular event with the Senior programme following next week for rangatahi aged
10 – 16yrs of age.
Tonight we kick off with our very first Tane Respondent
Programme in Te Puke. This initiative has taken over 12 months to reach
actual delivery to our whanau. It is aim that this programme will provide
our tane with tools to better manage situations so that positive change can be
made. We are looking forward to see how the programme is received by
participants.
Tomorrow the Kaumatua programme kick starts for 2012.
